Elizabeth Gonnerman

Freshman Representative Candidate

In a few sentences, introduce yourself to your peers!

My name is Elizabeth Gonnerman, I am a Political Science major. I would describe myself as friendly, hardworking, and outspoken. I love to listen to other people's stories and how they got to where they are in life.

Why would you be a good leader of your Freshman class? You may include any leadership advocacy type of experience you have done.

I'm outspoken and care a lot about other people. I am hardworking and very motivated towards these topics. In high school, I lead students to volunteer at a local art center that specializes in teaching children about creativity and embracing one's self without judgment.

What ideas do you believe you could bring to the table in Student Government Association? How would you pursue these changes?

I would to advocate for more disability-friendly options in the classroom. I have noticed that in some lecture halls and rooms, there isn't available space for someone who utilizes a wheelchair. Along with that, there is hardly any indication of where the nearest elevator in certain areas on campus is. I would pursue these changes by petitioning and making these things that seem so small to able-bodied people seen, and hopefully be able to bring this to our school admin.
